Bengals: Simpson’s flip most jaw-dropping TD play of NFL season

If you are looking for the one play that captures the way the Cincinnati Bengals somersaulted themselves back into the NFL play-off picture Saturday, it is Jerome Simpson turning himself into Nadia Comaneci and executing a perfect-10 front flip over an Arizona Cardinal defender near the goal line, then sticking the landing in the end zone for a 19 yard touchdown in the second quarter at Paul Brown Stadium.

It has my vote for the most jaw-dropping TD play in the NFL this season and it helped the Bengals top the Cardinals, 23-16. Coupled with the New York Jets loss to the New York Giants Saturday, Cincinnati is now in control of it’s playoff destiny. If the Bengals beat the Baltimore Ravens next Saturday at PBS, they secure an AFC wildcard berth,

Saturday’s victory makes the Bengals 9-6 this season, assuring the club of just its third winning season in the past 20 years.

This flip was great. Its a shame a Bengal player has to do a flip like this to get the national attention the team is so often cheated out of. They will beat the Ravens by 10.

Absolutely … WRs are very athletic and Jerome Simpson’s catch was spectacular . The Buckeyes have a Wr named Devin Smith a 6’3” 178 lb from Massillon Tigers Football program who also set the Stark County record in the high jump at 7’1” in Ohio High School track last year .

slag…save the speech about “young hungry guys working hard who deserve more” blah blah blah. These guys are multi-millionaires playing for billionaires. They couldn’t care less about you, but you hand your money over to them. You don’t get it. Any adult “fan” who supports a professional athletic team is lacking brain cells. But keep the cash flowing in, because Mr. Brown and the other owners are counting on you to support their lifestyle!

You Bengal fans are pussies, nothing but big freakin’ pussies..All those years you go to the games as they sold out at least 6 of the 8 games a year and then once the loser of all losers, Carson Palmer, the savior, the golden boy starts to chime in about not wanting to play for MB then it just validates everything, correct?? “Why, if our own Carson does not want to play for then our fearless leader must be right…blah blah blah.”. You have a hell of a team this year as the 3 biggest cancers/ losers ain’t there no more and you got a bunch of hungry young players out there busting their a**e, and you cok-sukkers won’t support them. You all should be ashamed and embarrassed for yourselves..You’re pathetic..I’ll be right thee in the club section enjoying it…..

I wouldn’t go to a Bengals game if you GAVE me a ticket. Why? Because I simply can’t support the Bengals’ ownership in any way after their stadium deal. Hamilton County is going broke, but they are stuck in the worst professional sports lease in history. One of the Hamilton County officials who OK’d this terrible deal now works in the Bengals front office!!! Hmmm… If you put a dime in Mike Brown’s pocket, you are a Grade A clown. I’m hoping for yet another blackout this weekend…and a Bengals loss for Mike Brown.

The problem I see with this team is the ownership, not the players. Mike Brown is giving a buy one get one free for the next game, but it is to the season ticket holders only. I know many season ticket holders that gave up theirs this year because of the greedy ownership. i would love going to a game or two but I can’t see spending the that kind of money for the ticket, food, gas, etc… for me or my family. If the game is blacked out so be it. That is the owner’s fault not the fans that would love to be there but can’t see paying the overpriced cost of the whole experience. Your going to see more and more of the fans dropping their season tickets because they can afford the rising cost.

Simpson’s acrobatic skills aren’t enough to sell tickets. The Bengals are offering a buy one/get one free ticket promotion for the game Sunday.

For those with short memories… … … … … … … … Cincinnati Bengals teammates Jerome Simpson and Anthony Collins, both 25, were at Simpson’s home in Crestview Hills, Ky., when a package allegedly containing 2.5 pounds of marijuana arrived at the house in what authorities called a controlled delivery. Inside the home, police allegedly found SIX MORE POUNDS of marijuana, other empty parcels, scales and packaging material. The house was set up as a potential distribution network,” said Tommy LaNier, head of the National Marijuana Initiative, a group that is funded by the Office of National Drug Control Policy and helps coordinate marijuana enforcement operations around the United States. “They had it all set up to receive supplies of high-grade marijuana from Northern California, and from there, it was being distributed from that residence,” he said.

I hope next time he breaks an ankle, throws out a knee or breaks his friggin’ neck. When did running across the goal line go out? Spank him and send him to his room. Child.

If he had dropped the ball, the play wouldn’t have been nearly as cool. As someone once said, “Act like you’ve been there before.”

The Christmas Flip was awesome! Just read the partner story that the Bengals want FANS TO SHOW UP FOR NEXT GAME….show some love! The Paul Brown Stadium is gorgeous…my son and hubby went to the Raiders/Bengals game few weeks back and took pics. Take a kid to the big game and have some fun. Get a souvenir to top things off. Maybe you’ll see an amazing Simpson flip in another TD- Go Bengals!

Unfortunately, he’ll be using that move quite a bit next year when cell-mate Bubba is chasing him around. The next landing won’t be quite as “soft”.

Anybody know the status of the marijuana bust at Jerome Simpson’s house back in Sept? Other than the initial news report, I have read heard nothing and wonder if a grand jury indictment will eventually be the result. Go Bengals!
