Hi Mark Happy New Year! I’m a bit late to the party here, but the only way to avoid a hangover is to drink in moderation. No “hangover remedy”, available commercially or otherwise, addresses the biochemical processes responsible for getting one drunk and hang overs. Aspirin and ibuprofen add to the gastric irritation alcohol causes. Tylenol is rough on the liver as well. I wrote about this a while back: http://tinyurl.com/5e8h4v

I have tried antinausea pills (no more than 2). Take when you are done drinking for the night with a glass of water. As for the headache I would say tylenol or advil. Lots of water always helps before going to bed.

You may read a 2005 paper published in the British Medical Journal at the following url: http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/picrender.fcgi?artid=1322250&blobtype=pdf. The authors reviewed published randomized trials of purported hangover “cures.” A few, including a non-steroidal antiinflammatory agent and a couple of dietary extracts, seemed to be helpful. Cheers and be safe.

when in Australia I discovered a vitamin supplement called Berocca that the Aussies swear by, the hangover preventing side effects are just a bonus. Lots of b6 and b12. Its not available here so when my stash runs low…2 Advil a tall glass of H2O and a Red Bull chaser before bed seems to accomplish the same thing….as long as you can fall asleep after that Red Bull….

I always take 2 or 3 Advil with a glass of water before bed. I have also heard that taking a B50 Vitamin with water will prevent a hangover. But if you do get a hangover my friend Mike swears Fritos and Chocolate milk will cure it.

Start with 2 asprins chased down with a large bottle of gatorade. Then take 1 shot of (I prefer canadian) whiskey every 10 minutes for an hour. You will feel great in no time…tomorrows another subject
