Gobble gobble, sip sip: Thanksgiving weekend wine tastings served here
In addition to the sterling tastings list available with just a click of a button below, you may also want to check out this piece entitled ‘Wine lounge opens, but with severe restrictions’, about the new wine bar inside the Centerville Pub … And speaking of Thanksgiving, I for one give hearty and robust thanks to the tireless efforts of the Dayton-based wine listserv of sorts that compiles this list every week and makes sure Uncorked readers and listserv subscribers know what’s going on in the local wine scene. I appreciate it, and I know you do, too, so thank you.
Good heavens, look at Jay’s Friday night wine tasting tonight and also at the menu for the restaurant’s Dec. 5 wine dinner, AND at the menu for the Dec. 5 “Bubble Bash” at Cuvee, a Chateau Montelena tasting Dec. 8 at Taste of Wine, the annual DLM Oakwood Champagne and sparkling wine tasting on Dec. 16, a Super Saturday tomorrow at Arrow Far Hills, a wine tasting at Amelia’s Bistro (is that their first appearance here?), the annual Barrel tastings at Kinkead Ridge Winery in Ripley and Harmony Hill and a handful of other wineries in the same region, and heck, even a Dom Perignon tasting at Jungle Jim’s.
Are we blessed to live in the Miami Valley, or what?

Wine lounge opens, but with severe constraints
The wine lounge located inside a Centerville sports bar that we told you about last month — and then one day later was forced to close because of a regulatory occupancy issue — is now back open again, though on a severely limited basis and by reservation only.
Here’s an excerpt from an update from Gayle Burtt and Mark Brown, co-managers of “Grapes — a Wine Lounge” inside the Centerville Pub at 68 West Franklin St.:
Finally, after 5 weeks of having to close the city granted us an occupancy report! For 9 people..sigh! Therefore while the owner works on the additional enhancements we are open, but by reservation only. A revised occupancy report will allow us to run as a “normal” business with open seating to a capacity of 25-30.
Grapes Wine Lounge features a warm and cozy atmosphere with hard wood floors, Tuscan style decorating, and comfortable seating in club chairs. There is always music playing and we feature moderately priced wines by the glass and bottle as well as a scrumptious appetizer menu including our signature meat and cheese plates.
We have two “windows” per night that we can seat up to a maximum of 8 people Monday through Sunday (5:00pm - 7:30pm and 8:00pm - 10:30pm).
