Omarosa classmate: She’s as ‘sincere’ as any of us

Like any new student, Omarosa Manigault Stallworth was nervous.

She slept little the week leading up to her entry Monday into the doctorate of ministry program at United Theological Seminary. She posted the message, “First day of school jitters” on her Twitter page.

Photos of Omarosa on enrollment day and more

UTS President Wendy J. Deichmann had the cure. She gave Omarosa a tiny mustard seed, representing the Bible passage where Jesus told followers that faith, even the size of a tiny mustard seed means “nothing will be impossible to you.”

“Very few people have faith in my transformation, so this is a wonderful gift,” she said.

Many celebrity gossip sites have mocked the star of reality television shows like “The Apprentice,” “Celebrity Apprentice” and “The Surreal Life” after learning she intended to pursue a doctorate of ministry.

“Don’t let that hold you back,” Deichmann told her on Monday.

Her celebrity was evident throughout the morning. While other students registered for an intensive weeklong session of study on campus, Omarosa first did interviews with “Inside Edition.”

Omarosa will take the classes Old Testament, New Testament and History of Christianity. She also has master’s equivalency coursework to do including 40 hours ministering to the sick and dying at hospitals.

Classmate F. Willis Johnson Jr. bonded with Omarosa at a meeting at UTS earlier this summer. In between teasing her about her nice bag and fancy clothes, telling her she needs to get “humble” at the seminary, he backed her commitment to studying at UTS.

“People need to know that she is as sincere and as authentic as anyone I’ve known who’s taken this journey,” said Johnson, who is assistant pastor at First Baptist North in Indianapolis.

Omarosa said she wants to continue missionary work in Haiti. She already has worked on getting school supplies for Haitian girls and helping women turn their artwork skills into jobs. She plans to return in October and hopes she won’t be alone.

“I’m going to be recruiting my classmates,” she said.

Jeez, are we going to have to hear about this glory hound for the two years she’ll be in Dayton. I certainly HOPE NOT! Ignore her media folks. Quit feeding the fire.

I dont like Omarosa-she’s a diva-wannabe-but its beside the point. Maybe, just maybe her being in this town, will spark a few thousand dollars here & there for local businesses & such. The article said Inside Edition was interviewing her here, so maybe we’ll have a a couple dozen of fans who are into the D-List celebrity thing.

Who says she has to be compassionate because she’s becoming a minister. There are plenty of ministers who are spiteful and lack compassion. Look at John Hagee and the late, great Jerry Falwell.

Okay, I feel the need to interject here. I’m assuming that I have a bit of a different perspective than most of those who’ve posted on here. I say that as I am a student at UTS who has met Omarosa and believe her to be genuine. You’ll have to trust me when I say that’s not a compliment I give out often. Frankly, if being in the ranks of the clergy in today’s world teaches one much of anything, it’s learning how to tell when someone is a fake. Now, I fully understand that Omarosa has a large list of less than attractive items in her past. However, I think we’re all pretty guilty of that. While Omarosa’s faults have been laid open for the world to see on national tv -which, yes, is her own doing and she is responsible for all things entailed- she’s really no different than the rest of us in this world. Perhaps just a little more easily recognized. She should be afforded the opportunity to change her life, as are the rest of us. Call it what you will and how you will, but ask yourselves how you would want it if you were in her shoes….. I’m just sayin’….

The wise Christian will wait and see after all Saul became Paul,God will use who he will use he is no respecter of persons. Judge the tree by the fruit it bears in time we will see the works of the heart manifest.

STOP WATCHING INSIDE EDITION. IT’S NOT NEWS…IT’S TABLOID TRASH! As for Omarosa I hope she has truly felt a calling to serve. After dealing with Donald Trump’s arrogance maybe she feels called to minister to such greedy souls!!!!

Who cares? Now I suppose the Dayton Daily Blab is going to feature Omarosa on a daily basis….”Look, Omarosa feeds the ducks,” or “Omarosa enters Mayor’s race.” It’s all publicity.

I recently met Omarosa. She was rude and full of herself. Solead O’Brien, who has real talent, was pleasant and gracious. A leopard, or in this case a jackal, doesn’t change it’s spots.

Stop complaining. If she wants to go there let her. If she is the type of person you people say she is, maybe this will help her. There’s more important things to focus our attention on than things like this.

You people watch entirely too much TV. I suppose you all also think that the star of CSI is a real police officer, too. LOL. Omarosa is a good person who got hired to do a job on TV, she did it, job’s over, end of story.

With God all things are possible; who can speak what may have occurred in her heart. I pray she is serious; because you do not play with God.

Is her decision to go to United Theological Seminary really front page news? Is there nothing else in the world happening that is more important?

Have you looked at the United Theological Seminary site. It appears that she will not be here for two years but only for short periods of time (thank heaven we don’t have to see all this all of the time). Also look at the site and you will see that the majority of the instructors etc. are african-american which explains why she was carrying that bible.

She’s sincere? authentic? committed? Then why all the media following her around? Why film every movement she makes?I would believe she is sincere IF she did this quietly, privately,& as “authentic” as every other student at UTS.BTW-What is the African American Bible? My Bible just says “Bible” on the cover.Very curious.

Jean… That is the media. You know how they are. The poor lady can hardly get settled in before the circus starts. If we didnt make so much of the situation there would be no media coverage. She is a pretty black woman and I am sure any of us would have a conversation with her if given the chance. As far as her choice of Bibles… its her choice. I have one and believe it reads the same as yours. My question to you and other mean sprited folk here is…have you read yours lately?

What a bunch of hate mongers in these responses. Judge not lest ye be judged. It is so obvious that many people who reply hate God, hate others and have no personal dignity to write such viseral comments so they must hate themselves. How sad. We would all do well to concentrate on our own lives and attitudes and leave others alone.

Bob-my point was it wouldn’t be a circus if no one had notified the media she was here. How else would they know.Who did that and why?Inside Edition?Really? Why?I question her motives because of that.Any other UTS students have Inside Edition record your first day? And Oh my, I didn’t know I had a “choice” of Bibles.I merely wondered what’s up with the cover on hers. What does it mean, why call it anything except the Bible? It can’t possibly be better than the one I read. Why does everything have to be divided and categorized? We’re all God’s children..not God’s black children, God’s white children, or red or yellow or purple. Back on point..I hope she succeeds in her quest. What is important is not whether she can finish this course of study..it’s what she does with it afterward.Seeing that, then I’ll believe she’s sincere.Otherwise, she is just herself,a publicity hound.
