More than a dozen projects in the pipeline could mean up to 2,100 jobs for the region, the Dayton Development Coalition’s top executive said Friday.
Jeff Hoagland, the coalition’s president and chief executive, said his organization has 14 companies in various industries that have inquired about locating in the Dayton region.
Hoagland made his comments during an economic development forum at the DMAX truck engine plant in Moraine.
Hoagland said the coalition plans to heighten its focus on drawing more private-sector jobs to the region. But it also will continue to emphasize growing Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which has a $5.7 billion impact on the local economy, he said.
“As the numbers show, you can never have too much focus on Wright-Patterson because it drives so much in the region,” he said.
Montgomery County Commissioner Debbie Lieberman told the audience the county’s economic-development strategy includes aerospace, growth of the Interstate 75 corridor, urban-core revitalization and logistics/distribution.
