TROY — Redcats USA cut 26 jobs at its United Retail Inc.’s Avenue facility in Troy between July 31 and Aug. 7, with 12 more jobs to be affected by year’s end.
The job cuts come as Redcats transfers work done at United Retail Avenue’s Shop@Home call center to Redcats’ Texas call centers, and Troy’s Shop@Home and fulfillment operations move to Redcats’ Indianapolis fulfillment center.
The moves are part of Redcats’ plan to create a single catalog and Web site for its Avenue and Jessica London brands.
The Troy facility at 1501 Experiment Farm Road now has 213 employees.
After the transition, the Troy facility will continue to handle all of Avenue’s retail distribution operations, Pat Cross, Redcats’ vice president of corporate public relations and communications, said in a prepared statement.
Redcats is a multi-channel, Web-driven, home-shopping business with numerous brands in its portfolio, including Avenue. It offers men’s and women’s plus-size apparel, home and lifestyle products, and sporting goods/outdoors gear.
United Retail Inc. operates 448 Avenue stores in 37 states.
