Ohio’s largest small-business-to-government-contracting event is set to happen Wednesday, the Ohio Development Services Agency said.

The event will feature more than 500 small business owners and buyers, the state said. Participating buyers represent city, county, state and federal agencies, as well as large contractors combined with budgets representing billions of dollars.

“The Ohio Business Matchmaker helps government buyers and large contractors connect to hundreds of MBE/EDGE-certified, Minority-Owned, Women-Owned, Veteran-Owned, 8(a) and HUBZone businesses,” the department said in a release. “By securing contracts, small businesses have an opportunity to grow and increase jobs while strengthening their local communities. Government contracting is a multi-billion-dollar industry in Ohio.”

There, those attending can expect Daryl Hennessy, chief of the Business Services Division at the Ohio Development Services Agency to be on hand, with Ricardo “Rick” Garcia, director of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Heidi Bullock, director of Air Force Material Command headquarters contracting.
