PIQUA — Black Stone Healthcare, which provides in-home caregiving services, has opened a new office at 106 W. Ash St., Suite 504.
The new location, whose hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, will provide companionship, housekeeping and nonmedical services to Piqua, Troy, Sidney and surrounding communities.
Peggy Schmidt, RN, will serve as Black Stone’s private duty director of nursing in the Dayton region.
Black Stone employs more than 500 nurses, therapists and home-care aides through seven offices in Cincinnati, Dayton, Springfield, Xenia, Hamilton, Lebanon and Blanchester.
The Piqua office employs four home-care aides and a human-resources official, but Black Stone plans to hire 10 caregivers and five nursing or therapist positions, and probably a human resources coordinator and nursing supervisor, a company spokeswoman said.
