Cincinnati Bell said Wednesday it will close five retail stores in the Dayton and Cincinnati areas on Jan. 31 and merge them into larger, more visible store locations in the two markets.

No employees will lose their jobs, said Lisa McLaughlin, a spokeswoman for the company. The affected employees have been offered opportunities to transfer to the stores staying open, she said.

In the Dayton and Middletown areas, Cincinnati Bell will close its stores at Hyde Park Shopping Center, York Commons and South Towne Center. The company will continue to operate its stores at The Greene Town Center and Fairfield Commons Mall in Beavercreek and the store at 3363 Pendleton Circle, Franklin.

Cincinnati Bell also will close its stores at Deerfield Towne Center near Mason and at the Cassinelli Square mall in Springdale. It will relocate its West Chester store to a larger location at 7731 Tylersville Rd., West Chester, to serve that area.

The stores market wireless, Internet and home telephone services.
