Teleperformance USA is looking for 350 full-time customer service representatives for its Fairborn call center, the company said Wednesday, April 29.
The employees will work at the company’s 57 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road offices, said Marcie Ballard, Teleperformance vice president of recruiting.
The employees will take calls from customers regarding their wireless service at the Fairborn call center, which has been open since 1989, Ballard said.
Ballard said she could not identify the client for whom representatives will answer customer queries.
“I can say it’s a major wireless (service) provider,” she said.
Salt Lake City, Utah-based Teleperformance USA has already begun hiring and training classes will start the beginning of May, Ballard said. The Fairborn call center has 40 to 50 employees today, and the company expects to have the 350 positions filled by September, she said.
Ballard said the best way to apply is online at www.teleperformance.com.
Entry-level positions will start at $9.75 an hour, and Ballard said those hired will be able to enroll for medical coverage after 30 days on the job.
Teleperformance says it has the “largest global footprint in the contact center industry with 249 contact centers, located in 47 countries, servicing 75 markets.”
In December 2008, the company told the Ohio government that it may cut as many as 417 jobs at the Fairborn call center. Ballard said she didn’t know how many were laid off last year.
Jackie Stiteler, Teleperformance’s vice president of human resources, told the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services then that the layoffs were connected to a decision by a “significant client” to consolidate operations.
