DAYTON — Logos@Work, a provider of custom apparel and promotional items, will move its suburban operations into Dayton by early 2010 and add jobs, under an agreement the Dayton City Commission approved Wednesday, June 24.
Logos@Work is to consolidate its existing operations from Moraine and Kettering and relocate them into an existing Dayton building at 937 S. Patterson Blvd. Under the agreement, the company promises to bring an existing 17 full-time jobs into Dayton and to add eight more jobs within five years with an average annual salary of $39,400, Dayton’s city administration said.
Logos@Work said it expects to invest at least $500,000 for the relocation, including buying machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures and renovating the Dayton building.
The renovation to accommodate a showroom and other needs of the business will start after Logos closes on purchase of the building, said Vince Lewis, an owner of the company who is chairman and chief executive officer. The closing is set for Oct. 31, but may be rescheduled, Lewis said.
“It’s really a positive move for us,” he said. “We walk out a door, and a lot of our major customers are within a mile or two of us.”
Logos has about 4,000 customers in the Dayton region including local governments, high schools, colleges and small businesses, Lewis said. Through online operations, it also serves customers in other parts of the country.
The company specializes in providing embroidered and screen-printed apparel, along with signs and other promotional products.
The agreement commits the city of Dayton to provide Logos@Work with up to $65,000 toward the relocation expense.
