BEAVERCREEK — Portfolio Creative — a recruiting and staffing firm aimed at creative professionals — said Monday, April 12, it has opened an office in The Greene.

The Columbus-based firm recruits designers, writers, artists, marketing and interactive professionals for direct-hire and temporary help positions on behalf of large and small companies, said Catherine Lang-Cline, who co-owns the firm with Kristen Harris.

Lang-Cline in an interview said they had considered opening a Dayton-area office for some time because, when they have looked for people to fill jobs for their clients in Columbus, they often have found talented candidates in Dayton.

“Dayton really stood out to us because of the efforts city leaders are making to attract and retain their young professionals in the creative and technology sectors,” she said in a prepared statement.

Starting out, Harris will operate the Greene County office and be its sole employee. Over the next year, plans call for that office to expand to three employees as its local business grows, Lang-Cline said.

“We know the formula that worked here and we’re trying to mimic that,” Lang-Cline said. “I don’t think that can be done by initially hiring just anyone to run an office.”

Lang-Cline and Harris founded the company in 2005. Portfolio Creative employs eight in Columbus, said Jennifer Brown, the company’s marketing manager.
