The Dayton International Airport is renovating its economy parking lot starting this month, just one of several renovations the facility will undergo this year.
The work on the economy lot started this month, but it will remain open during the construction. The overflow parking lot, which has 1,600 spaces, will open when needed. Both of the lots now cost a flat rate of $4.95 per day.
“The airport is known for easy to and through travel,” said Terrence Slaybaugh, aviation director. “Having convenient, affordable and safe parking is critical to the value and convenience we offer visitors.”
The parking is expected to be completed in late months of summer. At the Dayton airport, funding for improvements are taken mainly from the airport improvement program, passenger facility charges and capital contributions.
Some of the proposed plans include a sanitary sewer improvement project for $8 million, $13 million to revamp parking at the airport and $22 million on terminal structure rebuilding projects.
