The award, which highlights exemplary workplace practices among employers across the U.S., is given by the Families and Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management.
Worksites have to qualify by ranking in the top 20 percent of the country based on a nationally representative sample of employers, according to the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Employers are ranked on six factors of effective workplaces: a culture of trust; opportunities for learning; work/life fit; supervisor support for work success; autonomy; and satisfaction with earnings, benefits and opportunities.
“These business strategies help promote the health and well-being of employees and their families as well as help the organization achieve strong business results,” said Phil Parker, president and CEO of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, in a news release.
