Dayton medical education firm acquires Florida business

Washington Twp.-based medical education consulting firm Germane Solutions has acquired Florida-based FQHC Associates, a consulting firm focused on services to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), the Dayton company said in a release Tuesday.

With the acquisition, Germane Solutions grows its workforce by 10 percent, adding to its Health Access division. FQHC Associates’ Principal and Chief Executive Steve Weinman joins Tracy Kulik as a vice president of Health Access, the company said.

Health Access has 12 employees and revenue of $3 million a year, the company said in its release.

“With integration of FQHC Associates, this will increase to 18 employees and add another $1.2 million in revenue for a total of $4.2 million in sales in 2017,” the business said. “Germane Solutions as a whole has expanded its workforce tremendously in recent years, reaching more than 50 employees and more than $10 million in annual revenue.”

“We are very pleased to be joining Germane Solutions,” Weinman said in Germane’s release. “Our firm is a perfect match to Germane’s very successful Health Access division.”

“Our firm has been committed to seeking out the most fitting organizations to complement our services and grow our business,” Art Boll, chief executive of Germane Solutions, said in the release. “With the current state of health care, we are confident the addition of FQHC Associates will serve both our clients and our business growth objectives for years to come.”

Germane Solutions, which helps hospitals develop residency programs, said it has completed more than 300 engagements for teaching hospitals nationwide.

While Germane is based locally, it has consultants working in Atlanta, Chicago, Greenville, S.C., New York City and elsewhere.

Last year, the company bought a Centerville business, Healthcare Advisory Network.
