DP&L donates $100K to new downtown outdoor amphitheater

The Dayton Power and Light Foundation today donated $100,000 through its signature grants to the Levitt Pavilion Dayton, the new outdoor amphitheater on Dave Hall Plaza.

The new downtown Dayton venue plans to host 50 free concerts each year and provide a gathering space for the community.

“We are thrilled that the DP&L Foundation’s support has helped us achieve our goal to begin construction. We know that its customers from the greater Dayton region will enjoy the benefits of the Levitt Pavilion,” D. Jeff Ireland, Friend of Levitt Dayton board chair, said.

The DP&L Foundation created signature grants in 2013 to provide non-profit organizations the opportunity to request funding for larger projects. Up until 2016, the foundation provided $2.3 million in signature grants to 15 organizations, with Levitt Pavilion Dayton becoming the new addition to the list.

The Levitt Pavilion Dayton aligns with the DP&L Foundation’s philosophy and is a welcome addition to make a difference in the lives of our customers, their families and the communities we serve,” DP&L President and CEO Tom Raga said in a statement.
