Dayton Power and Light Co. ranks below average for business customer satisfaction among mid-size Midwestern electric utility companies, according to a recent survey by J.D. Power and Associates.
DP&L, which serves about 500,000 customers in western Ohio, scored 646 points out of 1,000 in the survey of commercial electricity consumers, J.D. Power said. The average for mid-size Midwestern power companies was 656 points.
Duke Energy, which provides electricity to the greater Cincinnati area, scored 658 points, four points higher than the average for large Midwestern electric utility companies.
J.D. Power said it measured overall business customer satisfaction by examining power quality and reliability, billing and payment, corporate citizenship, price, communications, and customer service.
