'Everything must go' at Fairborn Blockbuster

FAIRBORN — Folks heading to Blockbuster Video, at 1171 E. Dayton Yellow Springs Road, better be in the mood to buy rather than rent.

That location is slated to close Saturday, July 25. Movies and games will be on sale until then.

The sale began Tuesday, June 30.

The City Manager was hired by Frank Cervone. So if you like her, you should probably give Cervone more credit than what you are. You're right though, Fairborn wasn't in that great of shape to begin with. Businesses closing down and such. He's brought businesses into this city as well as jobs to the citizens. Downtown Fairborn has not seen a women's clothing store in 20 years from what I told. He helped me open my very own business. Deville Designs. What about him do you think is unprofessional?

The current city manager took over just 3 years ago, unfortunately, Fairborn was already a DUMP a decade or more before that. When you move your courts and jail to a defunct shopping center to revitalize it, that's sound thinking from previous management. From my observations of city council meetings, Mr. Cervone is far from professional. He is almost always uninformed, speaks out of turn, and can be quite rude to other council members and city staff. Wearing a nice suit doesn't count.

The only thing the City Manager is doing an amazing job at is FAILING. Open your eyes, Fairborn became a DUMP when she took over. You consider someone who brings alcohol to work, which by the way is ILLEGAL, professional? Get used to it, Cervone will be mayor. That's all there is to it :)

Citizens of Fairborn, please attend or watch a city council meeting online. After doing so, it will become quite obvious that Cervone could not reason his way out of a wet paper bag. Just his stance on the Calamityville issue alone should alarm you. His arguments are dull witted and specious at best. His only agenda is to run down the City Manager and her staff who are trying to bring this city back to life.

At 60-years-old, I remember what Fairborn used to be; and what it is now. Unfortunately, the problems are more than the economy.
