BEAVERCREEK — The Express clothing store inside the Mall at Fairfield Commons closed Tuesday, Barbara Coleman, director of corporate communications for the Columbus-based clothing company, said this morning.

The closing comes a few months after Express opened a new store at The Greene, also in Beavercreek. The store at The Greene, and the Express store inside the Dayton Mall, were not affected by the closing of the Mall at Fairfield Commons store, Coleman said.

Coleman declined to comment on the factors that led to the decision to close the Mall at Fairfield Commons store. She said she did not know whether employees of the closed store were offered positions at the other Dayton-area stores.

Express is a specialty retailer of women’s and men’s clothing and accessories, targeting consumers between 20 and 30 years old. It operates more than 600 stores in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
