A company at the Dayton International Airport is looking to move to Miamisburg as it plans to add jobs and buy a building.

21st Century Solutions, known as GoKeyless, wants to invest about $650,000 for a move to Mound Business Park, where it will add a handful of jobs to an employee base of 20, and likely more in the coming years, a company official said.

The provider of keyless locks and access control systems has leased space for about eight years at the airport. Although projecting “very, very conservative” job growth as it looks to buy the building at 955 Mound Ave., a key reason for the new site is the employment base south of Dayton, said Joshua Stamps, a GoKeyless managing partner.

“We’re growing at a very aggressive pace and we find most of the individuals we’re interviewing and come on board are from south of town – south of Dayton,” he said. ““So we feel that moving south of Dayton will actually help us when it comes to filling positions.”

The site, which the company hopes to buy and occupy by the end of the year, will open up areas like “Middletown, Mason, West Chester” as a future employee base, Stamps said.

The 12,500 square foot building formerly occupied by BOI Solutions – which moved out earlier this year – is about twice the size in “usable space” than GoKeyless’ current site, Stamps said.

The city of Miamisburg is offering a $25,000 forgivable loan in exchange for GoKeyless adding at least six workers within three years to a $1.3 million payroll. That translates into about $29,000 annually in income taxes, records show.

Aside from the jobs and tax revenue, filling vacant space is a plus, said Miamisburg Development Director Chris Fine.

“Being able to get a tenant back in that building – especially at Mound Business Park – I think that’s a positive win for us,” he said.

“The building didn’t sit vacant very long,” Fine added. “Anything we can do to help encourage…. the reuse of those buildings at Mound is a good thing.”
