Florida developer pays $5.6M for Englewood properties

An Orlando, Fla. retail and hotel developer has paid about $5.6 million for land near Interstate 70 and the Englewood Meijer store, Montgomery County property records show.

Orchid Bay Development, LLC, of Orlando, paid CMT Englewood II LLC $2,598,000 for a vacant commercial outlot at 9200 N. Main St. in Englewood, records show. The sale is for land only, according to records.

The company also paid just over $3 million for land at 192 state route 48, also identified in county property records as a Meijer outlot.

Both transactions were recorded Monday, records show.

Orchid Bay is related to Phoenicia Development, based at the same business address in Orlando. Phoenicia’s list of projects include hotels, retail sites and residential projects in Florida, Texas and other southern states, as well as Rhode Island.

CMT Englewood purchased the property from Meijer Stores Limited Partnership last year for $325,000, records show.

The area in question is home to the Meijer store, a Chipolte Mexican Grill, a Panera Bread location and a Meijer gas station.

Phoenicia principals did not return a message seeking comment.
