Former P&G CEO could be selected as UC president

Former Procter & Gamble CEO Bob McDonald is in the running to become the next president of the University of Cincinnati, according to a report from the Cincinnati Enquirer.

McDonald has served as the secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for the past two years. His tenure at the top leader of P&G lasted from 2009 to 2013, and he oversaw more than 120,000 employees.

Earlier this week, Sen. Sherrod Brown urged Trump to keep McDonald as secretary. Should Trump replace McDonald, his cabinet would not have anyone from Ohio. McDonald is just the fourth Ohio official since 1965 to serve in a presidential cabinet.

“He has done a good job,” Brown said of the former chief executive officer of Procter & Gamble.

UC has been searching for a new president since Santa Ono left in June to take the top leadership position at the University of British Columbia.
