NEW RETAIL IN 2018: At Home store among the new destinations for home goods in Dayton

When looking back at new retail this year, the welcoming of home goods retailer At Home is among the highlights.

At Home opened its first store location in the Dayton area earlier this year.

At Home, a Texas-based home decor chain retailer, is located in the old Kmart building off of Indian Ripple Road.

“It will definitely attract a lot of shoppers,” said associate Beavercreek city planner Sandra Pereira.

The former Kmart building, which stood there for more than 40 years, had been deteriorating significantly in recent years. This is the first At Home location in the Dayton area. The retailer already has two locations in the Cincinnati area and another two in the Columbus area.

At Home opened 80 new stores in just four years, and had plans to open 25 new stores in the 2018 fiscal year. The company has delivered revenue growth at a 20 percent compounded annual rate over the past four years, according to a company statement.
