Huber Heights restaurant stops dinner service

A family-owned restaurant in Huber Heights has changed its operating hours, and is offering special deals in December.

Old Glory Cafe, located at 7111 Taylorsville Road, is now open Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cafe is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The business used to serve dinner as well.

Janet Campbell, one of the owners, told us a lot of new restaurants opened up in the area and it was hard to compete for customers. But, not a lot of places offered breakfast.

The cafe opened back in 2003, and serves American cuisine for breakfast and lunch. Diners can enjoy items like scrambled eggs, pancakes, hashbrowns, salads, chicken fingers, burgers, soup and crispy fries.

Campbell said the restaurant makes most of their items from scratch, including biscuits and gravy and waffles. They even grind their own burgers for lunch.

“We try to serve fresh food,” she said.

In December, customers can enjoy 20 percent off their total purchase of $10 or more before tax.
