LexisNexis Risk Solutions has been awarded a contract to verify the accuracy of resident information for a Massachusetts independent state agency that helps residents find health insurance coverage and avoid tax penalties.
The Massachusetts Health Insurance Connector Authority selected LexisNexis to provide real-time, online residency verification for applicants to the unsubsidized Commonwealth Choice program.
“LexisNexis Identity Management Solutions enable the Health Connector to verify that individuals applying for the program are residents of Massachusetts — a vital component to detecting and preventing fraud and improper utilization of the system,” said Clint Fuhrman, LexisNexis’ director of Government Health Care Programs.
Massachusetts law requires that most residents ages 18 or older purchase health insurance.
LexisNexis has about 3,400 employees and contractors in Miami Twp., which is the company’s biggest single concentration of employment.
