CVS Pharmacy announced it has removed artificial trans fats from all of its store brand food products.

The national retail pharmacy chain, which has several locations in the area, has moved partially hydrogenated oils (PHO) from its more than 600 snack and grocery options. PHO is the primary source of artificial trans fats in foods. The company's decision comes a year and a half ahead of the Food and Drug Administration's deadline of June 2018 for processed foods to be reformulated without artificial trans fats. READ MORE

Conagra Brands in Troy has been recognized for its environmentally friendly practices by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

The plant in Troy, which manufactures Slim Jim products, was honored by OEPA Director Craig Butler on Thursday during a flag-raising event. The Troy facility achieved gold-level recognition in Ohio EPA's Encouraging Environmental Excellence program. READ MORE

Starbucks expanding its footprint across Dayton’s suburbs

A new Starbucks has opened its doors on North Main Street (Ohio 48) just south of I-70 in Englewood, and the chain has multiple other projects in the works as it expands its footprint in the Dayton area.

The region's newest Starbucks coffee shop and restaurant is located in an outlot in front of the Meijer store in the 9100 block of North Main St., adjacent to a free-standing Panera Bread Bakery & Cafe and next to a MOD Pizza restaurant that has not yet opened. READ MORE
