Restaurant outlook: People not going out to eat as much

Restaurants in Ohio brought in almost $1 billion in sales last year, but consumers didn’t go out to eat as much in the first month of 2017.

A new survey by the Ohio Restaurant Association and the Cleveland Research Company found restaurant owners saw weaker consumer demand in January after a strong fourth quarter that ended in December. That increase was due in part to the mild winter weather. READ MORE HERE

2 local sporting goods stores to be impacted by bankruptcy

A Midwest-based sporting goods retail chain, with a local presence, has filed for bankruptcy. MC Sports, legally known as Michigan Sporting Goods Distributors, announced it plans to begin liquidation sales of all of its 68 stores.

Kettering Health plans new medical offices

Kettering Health Network plans to open physician practices and offer outpatient services in a 62,000-square-foot building it recently purchased in the Shops of Oakwood, near Dorothy Lane Market, network officials announced Wednesday.

"We are thrilled to continue the building's legacy of providing health care to our neighbors in Oakwood," said Kettering CEO Fred Manchur. "Everything we do as a faith-based health system centers on how to best care for the patient. Part of that care includes connecting people to better and faster access to quality health care.
