New Liberty Center ‘medspa’ helps you put your best face forward

Pure M.D. MedSpa is in the business of making people look and feel good.

The Dayton-based company opened Monday at its newest location on the second floor of The Foundry inside Liberty Center, offering clients numerous options for non-surgical aesthetic services such as SmartLipo, fat transfers, tattoo removal and Botox from licensed doctors and nurse practitioners.

Other procedures available at the private-pay practice include fillers, laser hair removal, mommy makeovers, skin tightening, tattoo removal and complete facial rejuvenation treatments, among others.

“We’re in the business of making people look and feel good,” said Dr. Suresh Gupta. “We have a solution for anybody who wants to look better. Even after exercise and diet, there are certain parts of the body that you just can’t lose fat.”

Gupta, a University of Cincinnati gradute, said he started practicing in the Dayton area in 1994 specializing in the treatment of chronic pain and opened two Pure M.D. in that area since 2012. He said he opted to construct his third facility inside Liberty Center, investing about $2 million to design, construct and open the space, because the lifestyle center is situated in “a great location.”

“The neighborhood around here is just amazing,” Gupta said. “The average household income is about $170,000.”

Gupta said Pure M.D. also specializes in fat transfers that take unwanted and excess fat from one part of the body and use it for breast or hip augmentation.

His partner in the practice, Dr. Priyesh Mehta, specializes in sp orts medicine and athletic treatments including injury prevention regimens, osteopathic manipulation, ultrasound and platelet rich plasma to treat chronic and acute shoulder and knee injuries.

Pure M.D.’s spa-like space at Liberty Center features a waiting area, consultation room and five separate treatment rooms. It also is located in an area of The Foundry at Liberty Center that is easily accessed from a backstair entrance or a private elevator just inside the ground floor.

“You don’t have to walk through the mall,” Mehta said. “People can come in and out … without even being noticed. Some of the other (businesses), they’re in a storefront out in the open and that’s a negative thing. We have that privacy, so that’s nice.”

Sapna Gupta, chief operating officer for Pure M.D. and Dr. Gupta’s daughter, said each physician at the practice provides in-depth consultations with potential SmartLipo or fat transfer clients to review lifestyle choices, including eating habits.

“They want to make sure, after they do one of these procedures … that you will personally be able to keep off the weight, that you will make this a lifestyle choice and you won’t be coming in again very quickly,” she said. “The idea is not to just take your money and have you keep coming back for these same procedures over and over again. The idea is to … make sure that whatever you’re choosing to do works with you and your lifestyle and that you’re happy at the end of the day, that you can leave us confidently, getting the results that you want.”

A public open house scheduled to run through 8 p.m. today offers facility tours, giveaways and special discounts on services.
