MIAMISBURG — PEQ Services + Solutions expects to maintain its meteoric growth in 2010, thanks in part to a budding relationship with eBay.
PEQ, which provides outsourced information technology services, employs 80 people at its headquarters on the ninth floor of the Dayco building, at One Prestige Place near the Dayton Mall. That’s nearly double the 43 people it employed there in February 2008. PEQ will put dozens more on the eighth floor in coming months.
Nationwide, PEQ employs more than 200 people. That total should climb up to 50 percent in 2010, a company spokeswoman said.
Jason Evans, PEQ’s co-founder, president and CEO, said sales now surpass $25 million and are expected to grow 53 percent in 2009 and at least 50 percent in 2010.
PEQ’s pilot project with eBay Motors has been expanded to several states, Evans said. Through the arrangement, PEQ provides consulting services to eBay Motors’ dealership groups, showing them how to better manage and use eBay to generate revenue.
“eBay has been impressed and elated with the progress we’ve experienced to date with the PEQ pilot project,” Don Crawford, senior manager for project development at eBay, wrote in a prepared statement. “We look forward to expanding this project and our relationship with PEQ, and tracking even greater results as we move into 2010.”
Evans credits customer service and his employees’ skill and hard work for the company’s success.
In addition to eBay, some of PEQ’S largest customers include Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Sonic Automotive of Charlotte, N.C.; and Berry Co. LLC, a subsidiary of Local Insight Media Holdings Inc.
And a large, undisclosed automotive manufacturer headquartered in Asia is looking to PEQ to provide service and support to its dealerships, Evans said.
About 55 percent of PEQ’s revenue comes from the automotive sector, with another 15 percent respectively from educational services, large retail and private equity.
Downsizing at companies such as Reynolds & Reynolds, NCR and LexisNexis has allowed PEQ to fill most of its open positions with local, experienced people, Evans said.
“There’s a pretty good talent pool from an IT service and IT support perspective for us to pull from,” he said.
