WASHINGTON TWP., Montgomery County — Retired Gen. T. Michael Moseley, the Air Force’s immediate past chief of staff, has joined the advisory board of defense contractor SelectTech Services Corp., the company said Wednesday, Sept. 9.

“He’s going to expand our thinking,” said Scott Sullivan, president of SelectTech Services. “There’s no one better to advise us and ensure that our thinking is in line with our strategic customers.”

Sullivan said his company is humbled to have attracted Moseley for advice on business strategy.

The retired general brings considerable clout, even among defense contractors, with contacts at the highest levels in Washington and throughout the Air Force. He commanded at all levels of the Air Force, concluding his career as its top uniformed officer. He served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff as a senior military adviser to former President Bush and Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Moseley now lives in South Carolina. He becomes the first outside member of the SelectTech advisory board, joining the company’s executive leadership, Sullivan said.

Moseley and former Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne resigned under pressure in June 2008 after an outside report criticized the Air Force for a decline in its stewardship of the nation’s nuclear weapons. In one case, nuclear warhead fuses were mistakenly shipped to Taiwan. In another, Air Force personnel unwittingly flew nuclear weapons across the country.

SelectTech Services, begun in 1982, provides engineering, technical and information technology services to Defense Department customers.
