Springboro hardware store acquired, Liberty Twp. store to close

A family-owned hardware company will acquire Moe’s Outdoor Equipment & Supplies in Springboro.

Moe’s, located at 714 N. Main St. in Springboro, will be acquired in early February 2018 by E&H Hardware Group. E&H will also acquire Moe’s Mobile Service unit located in Liberty Twp. E&H Hardware Group is owned by the Bueler family in Wooster, and operates 22 hardware locations throughout Ohio.

The Springboro location will close on Feb. 3 and reopen Feb. 6 under new ownership. Moe’s Liberty Twp. will “slowly wind down operations … with the new ownership change,” according to a company statement. Some employees from the Liberty Twp. location could be hired by the Springboro location.

Moe’s, formerly known as West Chester Lawn & Garden, started its outdoor power equipment business in 1988 and expanded to Springboro in 2010 with a second power equipment location. The location in Springboro also added an Ace Hardware after opening.

“I am excited for Moe’s to continue with the E&H Hardware family and team and feel confident that their resources will maximize the future success of Moe’s,” said Dale Magie, president of Moe’s Outdoor Power Equipment & Supplies.

Ace Hardware product lines will be refreshed and popular store departments, including outdoor power equipment and parts, will be enhanced at the Springboro store. Magie said the acquisition will allow him to spend more time with family, friends and his church community.
