The city was awarded $500,000 in Montgomery County ED/GE in December 2015 to help keep Standard Register in Dayton, according to city documents. Project George, the code name for the project focused on keeping Standard Register, was recommended awards of $250,000 in ED/GE funding from both the 2015 and 2016 rounds. Taylor Communications was formerly Standard Register.
On Wednesday, Dayton commissioners will vote on legislation for the city to accept $500,000 in ED/GE funding to help the “Standard Register Inc. project” make the offices at 111 W. First St. a “competitive setting” and reduce the company’s future energy consumption.
