NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Friday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

Cobalt International Energy Inc., up $7.78 at $31.68

The oil producer released a study showing that its well in offshore Angola might be more productive than many analysts thought.

Toyota Motor Corp., down $2.49 at $78.39

Regulators are investigating reports of fires in the driver's side doors of the company's 2007 Toyota Camry sedans and RAV-4 SUVs.

Alcatel-Lucent, up 25 cents at $2.19

Years of cost-cutting helped the telecommunications equipment maker earn an annual profit in 2011, its first since its 2006 merger.

AK Steel Holding Corp., down 45 cents at $8.16

A Citi analyst cut the steel maker's stock rating saying that it has been unsuccessful in its attempts to raise prices for stainless steel.

Overseas Shipholding Group Inc., down $1.65 at $10.18

The oil and gas shipping company said that it is ending its quarterly dividend payment to save money in the uncertain global economy.

XL Group PLC, down $1.74 at $19.27

The Ireland-based insurer posted a fourth-quarter loss because of the impact of the Thailand floods and a big one-time charge.

A123 Systems Inc., up 14 cents at $2.03

The maker of rechargeable lithium ion batteries signed a contract to supply six battery systems to a U.K. power grid operator.

True Religion Apparel Inc., down $10.13 at $26.61

The designer jean maker posted fourth-quarter earnings that fell short of expectations and gave a disappointing outlook for 2012.
