Trump attacks Amazon on Twitter again. Here’s why.

U.S. President Donald Trump criticized online retail giant Amazon.com on Twitter again, saying the company is “doing great damage to tax paying retailers.”

Trump often criticixes the company and CEO Jeff Bezos, who owns The Washington Post. Trump tweeted that “towns, cities and states throughout the U.S. are being hurt - many jobs being lost!”

According to its website, Amazon collects sales taxes in 45 states with a sales tax and the District of Columbia. The company has recently gone on a hiring spree, looking to fill more than 50,000 jobs nationwide — including thousands in Ohio and Kentucky.

While traditional retailers have announced store closures and lay-offs thorughout 2017, Amazon continues to grow and acquire companies like Whole Foods Market.
