Yellow Springs Brewery to expand, start canning

The Yellow Springs Brewery will install a new brewing system this spring that will allow the brewery to begin canning and selling their beer at retail outlets this summer, brewery co-founder Nate Cornett said this afternoon.

The brewery will replace its seven-barrel brewhouse with a 15-barrel system and has added about 1,600 square feet of space to its existing brewery and tasting room at 305 N. Walnut St. The new brewing equipment will allow YSB to brew up to 5,000 barrels a year, Cornett said.

“We can’t meet demand,” Cornett said.

Yellow Springs Brewery will add a canning line this summer that will allow it to sell beer at retail outlets in the Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus markets, Cornett said.

“This gives us a larger net to cast,” he said.
