Riverside man accused of animal cruelty arrested after failing to appear

A Riverside man was arrested after he failed to appear in court for animal cruelty charges stemming from a November case.

David Jackson, 28, was arrested on Woodman Drive in Kettering on Sunday and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Jackson is accused of two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of dogs running at large.

According to court documents, the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center was called to Jackson’s house after a neighbor reported seeing a dog eating another dog in a rear kennel of his Spinning Road house.

The Animal Resource Center responded and found a dead male pitbull type dog missing body parts, according to court documents.

A female dog appeared “on the thin side” with her ribs and backbone visible.

Jackson ended up surrendering the female dog.

Jackson’s next court date is scheduled for June 8.
