Ohio state champions in 2012
Throughout Ohio, 49 high schools won at least one Ohio High School Athletic Association team state championship in the calendar year of 2012.
Among schools in the region:
- Carroll became the first school to produce three consecutive boys soccer state titles.
- Coldwater secured three championships, in football (in its fourth straight title game appearance), boys bowling and girls bowling.
- Dunbar won two state championships, in boys basketball and boys track and field, extending strong histories in both.
- Fenwick rallied twice to take home a girls soccer state championship for the second time in five seasons.
- Graham again dominated, winning its 12th straight wrestling state title in Division II.
- In a span of three weeks, Marion Local won its fourth volleyball championship in six seasons and repeated as state football champions by the slimmest of margins.
- Mason rolled to a girls cross country state title, producing this memorable photo.
- Miami East continued an unprecedented two-year stretch with a second straight state volleyball title.
- Minster won its first state baseball championship in 2011. Then it followed with a second in 2012 on an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.
- Oakwood won its third boys golf state title in four years.
- Versailles used a third-place performance in the final event to edge its way to a second girls track and field state title in three seasons.
