PLAYERS TO WATCH

Blake Beemer, sr., Northmont: Outfielder and first baseman has Northmont in hunt for Greater Western Ohio Conference Central title. T-Bolts won GWOC North in 2008. A .446 hitter with 33 RBIs and four homers, Beemer is heading to Ball State.

Kyle Blackford, sr., Franklin: The 6-foot-7 senior has solid command of a fastball, curve and changeup, and he's a lefty. That bodes well for the Wildcats when he takes the mound.

Nate Bowles, sr., Stebbins: Strong-armed catcher also can do damage at the plate. Hit .487 with six doubles, four triples and has some speed going eight-for-eight on stolen-base attempts. Signed with Miami University.

Allen Comer, sr., Tippecanoe: Center fielder was Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Division Player of the Year in 2008. Returns his .400 average, 25 RBI, 30 runs and 19 stolen bases for Kenton Division champs.

Zach Gossett, sr., Beavercreek: Catcher handles a staff that needs to throw strikes for the Beavers to make a run at the GWOC Central title. Gossett also a leader on offense with .442 average last season.

Cory Klenke, sr., Coldwater: Four-year starter led Cavaliers to Division III state semifinals in 2008. Work ethic and knowledge of the game are a couple of reasons Miami University signed the shortstop.

James Sheltrown, sr., Springboro: Versatile Sheltrown excels at catcher but also can play up the middle. Akron-bound, third-year starter hits the gaps and is a tough out with consistent contact. Panthers are GWOC South defending champs.

Mike Radominski, sr., Butler: Center fielder hit .385 last season and his offense will be counted on again as Aviators contend for GWOC North title. Third-year varsity player was Butler's hottest hitter in the postseason.

Mason Reynolds, sr., West Carrollton: Big right-handed pitcher is intimidating at 6-4, 180 pounds. Went 3-1 with 2.47 ERA before back injury cut season short. Signed with Miami University.
