Until last week, I found little funny about what was happening to Tiger Woods, other than the usual late-night (and even day-time) one-liners, many by people who did the same thing he did, only got away with it.
Then I channel-surfed and saw Larry King promoting notable moral pillars Donald Trump and Dennis Rodman about what they thought.
Hooked at last, just as I was during the trial of O.J. Simpson, who, come to think of it, would be another great interview on the subject.
Turns out Tiger’s a “great guy,” according to Trump and Rodman, who maybe shared some of his friends.
How about a new reality show on Woods, featuring Larry King himself, and Pete Rose, President Clinton, Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, David Letterman, Mike Tyson and that Jon Gosselin (who I’m told is some kind of celebrity).
We can even go to the other side of the gender line to question Madonna, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and the all-time mate-mover, Elizabeth Taylor.
Even pretty-boy quarterback Tom Brady has two children by two different women, only one of whom he has married.
Sadly, I’d probably watch a show like that. It’s got all the elements.
Problem is, if Woods comes back at his golfing best, a lot of this will go away. If he doesn’t, he’s talk-show fodder for the rest of his life.
