MONROE — Playing like the defending state champions they are, the Alter Knights showed the Carlisle Indians where they want to be Saturday night, Nov. 14, at Monroe High School.

Alter (12-0) cruised to a 41-0 Division IV regional semifinal win over a Carlisle football team that was playing in uncharted postseason territory.

It was business as usual for the defending state champion Knights, whose ground game ran roughshod over the Indians, amassing 300 yards on 43 carries from quarterback Zane Pitzer, Justin Winters, Cody Taulbee and Nolan Wilson.

Pitzer and Taulbee each rushed for two touchdowns, and Wilson had one.

Playing in its first regional semi, Carlisle may have had some jitters early. Jordan Jacobs bobbled the opening kickoff, then later lost the ball while fighting for extra yardage. The fumble put Alter on the Carlisle 47-yard line.

Eight plays later, Alter scored on Pitzer’s 1-yard plunge. Andy DiMario added the extra point, and Alter was well on its way.

Alter forced Carlisle into a 3-and-out on its next possession, then needed just four plays before Pitzer broke loose for a 49-yard touchdown run. Another DiMario kick made it 14-0.

“I think they’re a really good football team,” Alter coach Ed Domsitz said of the team his squad pummeled. “But what impressed me the most was the kind of support they got from their fans and community. That says a lot about a program, and Carlisle should be very proud of its football team.”

Domsitz said his team’s running ability, combined with the stinginess of the Knights defense, were the differences in the game.

“Zane runs that offense about as well as you can run it,” Domsitz said. “Many of the plays that are sent out, he can run to either side, so he makes that decision. That’s much to his credit.”

“We’ve made this jump (into the postseason playoffs), now we’ve got to look and see what we can do to make the next jump and get to where those guys are,” Carlisle coach Billy Jewell said.

Alter faces Clinton-Massie in the regional title game next Saturday.

Hey Hates Ignorant People,

We may be crackheads and live by train tracks but we do not have to worry about 60 year old priests molesting our children.

Pardon me for sounding ignorant, but you seem bitter about something were you touched in an inappropriate way?
