Junior Elizabeth Haley’s double-double led the Oakwood High School girls basketball team to a 60-48 win over Brookville on Thursday.
The 6-foot-1 forward recorded team highs for the Jills (6-7) with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Sidney Cera had a solid night for the Blue Devils, scoring 26 points in the loss.
Northridge 57, Preble Shawnee 37: Senior posts Marissa Reynolds and Cadijah Spears put on a show in the Polar Bears’ road victory over the Arrows.
Reynolds put up the gaudier numbers, compiling 25 points, 21 rebounds, and five blocks, but her teammate wasn’t too far behind. Spears added 20 points, while filling out the rest of the stat sheet with strong numbers in the process.
Tri-Village 82, Bradford 32: Another game, another big scoring output from Patriots forward Kayla Linkous.
Tri-Village’s star senior, who recently eclipsed 1,000 rebounds for her career, added another double-double to her collection against Bradford with 40 points and 10 rebounds.
Franklin Monroe 59, Newton 50: The Jets staved off the Indians thanks in part to the hot shooting of guard Taylor Robins.
The junior nailed six 3-pointers and went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line en route to a season-high 30 points.
Fellow junior Haley Gray supplemented Robins’ big night with 18 points.
Trelissa Lavy and Andee Welbaum paced Newton with 11 points each.
Boys basketball
Fairborn 58, Lebanon 52: The Warriors (2-10) kept hanging around, but they couldn’t pull out the upset at home over the Skyhawks (6-5).
Fairborn sophomore Jordan Michael had 15 points, including 9-of-11 from the foul line, and senior Kendrick Williams added 14.
Junior Ben Esposito kept Lebanon in the game, scoring 26 points in the loss.
