Chaminade Julienne’s Diann Bonner made an eagle on the 18th hold and CJ led by 10 strokes after the first day of the Division II girls state golf tournament Friday at Ohio State University’s Gray Course.
Bonner, a senior, holed out from 147 yards on the par-4 finishing hole, using a 7-iron to finish her first round with a 2.
The Eagles, led by junior Mikaela Hadaway’s 80, shot a 352 and hold a healthy lead over Poland Seminary heading into today’s final round. CJ’s players begin teeing off at 9:56 a.m.
Bonner shot an 84, senior Adrianne Marx had a 93, sophomore Kaitlyn Cartone had a 95 and junior Emily Poock shot a 102.
Alter is in sixth place with a 379. Mary Rose Metter shot a 79 and is tied for sixth in individual scoring. National Trail is in 12th at 392.
