Dee Bowling knows where things start for her Chaminade Julienne softball team — on the mound with junior pitcher Lyndsey Diggs.
Diggs no-hit visiting Franklin and struck out 11 in CJ’s 2-0 win at the Division II Dayton sectional Friday, May 14.
Diggs ran her record to 15-8. She’s started every game this season for the Eagles and earned every decision.
“She’s the heart and soul of our team,” Bowling said. “We don’t have her, we’re a completely different team.”
Diggs came into the game with a 0.67 ERA. She has 243 srikeouts this season.
CJ scored its two runs in the fifth inning. Kiara Henderson scored on a passed ball. April Grierson scored off a sacrifice by Scanice Reynolds.
CJ and its ace pitcher will play Valley View at Waynesville on Tuesday, May 18.
