If Dunbar is to make a run at the Division II boys state track and field title, it’ll be without its best threat: Antonio Blanks.

The senior aggravated a pulled hamstring in this week’s D-II district prelims at Welcome Stadium and is done for the season. He was the defending state champ in the 300 hurdles.

Still, it was a record-setting day in the D-II district on Saturday, with the boys and girls combining to reset nine standards.

Dunbar won the boys team title, beating runner-up Chaminade Julienne 122-71. CJ won the girls title, 136-92.50 over runner-up Oakwood.

Girls record setters were:

• Alter’s 3,200-meter relay (9:25.98).

• CJ’s Cierra Brown in the 100 hurdles (15.01).

• Stivers’ 800 relay
(1:42.74).

• Alter’s Olivia Albers in the 1,600 (5:08.49).

• Oakwood’s 1,600 relay (3:58.56).

• Marshall’s Ja’Naye Scott in the long jump (18-3.25).

Boys record setters were:

• CJ’s Bryan Cain in the 110 high hurdles (14.15) and 300 hurdles (37.89).

• Dunbar’s 800 relay
(1:29.97).

In the D-II district at Graham, Urbana won the girls team title and Versailles the boys.

Kaley Moss of Urbana swept the 100 (15.85) and 300 hurdles (45.43). James Wilker of Versailles also swept both hurdle events.

Division III

Miami Valley, led by Caitlin Pohl, extended its recent girls track surge by winning the D-III district at Welcome Stadium. The Rams beat runner-up Xenia Christian 117-90.

Twin Valley South edged Dixie 99-86 to win the boys team title.

Pohl won both hurdles events and also was part of the winning 800 and 1,600 relays. The Rams set a record in the 800 relay
(1:46.84). Also posting wins for MV were Lauren Shaver in the 800 and Laurel Cooney in the long jump.

Michaela Nelson of Xenia Christian was a triple winner, sweeping the 100, 200 and setting a record in the 400 (57.62).

TV South’s two boys winners were George Holman (1,600) and Jordan Krickenbarger (pole vault).

• In the D-III district at Graham, Versailles (girls) and Anna (boys) each won team titles.

Anna’s Dexter Bensman won the 100 and 200 and ran on the winning 800 relay and record-setting 400 relay (43.86).

Versailles won six events and was paced by Tammy Berger’s sweep of the 1,600 and 3,200. Lehman Catholic senior Gretchen Walter dominated the sprints, winning 100, 200 and 400.

• In the D-III district at Minster, the hosts swept the girls and boys team titles.

Minster’s girls 1,600 relay set a record (4:03.63) and Kayla Wuebker reset the pole vault mark (11-3).

The top four placers in district events qualify for this week’s regionals, all at Welcome Stadium.

The top four regional placers advance to the following weekend’s season-ending state track and field championships in Columbus.
