Fairmont coach Frank Baxter has been named the Division I Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches’ Association coach of the year for the 2010-11 season.

The Firebirds set team records for most sectional champs (seven), most district qualifiers (11), most district players (six), most state qualifiers (five) and most state placers (two).

Baxter also supervises a twice-weekly study table for his team.

Postponed hoop: Friday’s Piqua at Trotwood-Madison boys basketball game has been rescheduled for Feb. 7 at Trotwood.

The Rams’ run to the football state title has delayed Rocky Rockhold from making his debut as Trotwood’s new head coach.
