Oakwood High School baseball coach Nathan Hyatt plans to resign his position after the season ends and informed his team of the decision this week, according to sources. He plans to pursue the football offensive coordinator position at Chaminade Julienne High School.

The Eagles promoted defensive coordinator and social studies teacher Marcus Colvin to the head coaching position in April. CJ Athletic Director Jon Payne said nothing is official with Hyatt’s hiring. Hyatt is expected to meet with CJ officials next week.

• Former head football coaches Steve Bartlett (Carroll), Andy Helms (CJ) and Jim Place (CJ) are among the applicants at Springfield. That job became open when Rick Robertson resigned last month to be head coach at Oakwood.
