37 points by Williams leads Fairborn to win

An epic performance from Kendrick Williams lifted Fairborn High School to a 82-68 win over Miamisburg in a boys basketball game Friday, Jan. 15.

The 6-foot sophomore guard scored a career-high 37 points, hitting 12 field goals and a 3-pointer. He was 12-for-12 from the free-throw line. Williams was second in the Greater Western Ohio Conference in scoring coming into the game.

The win improved Fairborn to 3-8 overall and 3-1 in the GWOC. Miamisburg fell to 1-8 overall and 1-3 in the GWOC.

Brad Hall scored 22 points for Fairborn. He shot 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.

Chris Unice led Miamisburg with 23 points and was 11-for-15 from the free-throw line. Jordan Essex scored 21.

Vandalia Butler 86, Springboro 45: A.J. Pacher’s big night for Vandalia included 23 points, eight rebounds and 5-for-11 shooting from 3-point range. The Wright State signee shot 63 percent from the field.

Taylor Decker scored 16 points and Brett Williams 15 for the Aviators. Springboro’s Adam Patton scored 11 and Josh Davis scored 10.

Trotwood-Madison 83, Sidney 66: Trotwood’s Darnell Tubbs scored 26 points and had 12 rebounds. Dawuan Thomas scored 16 and had 10 assists. Chris Townsend scored 14.

Zach Yinger scored 25 points to lead Sidney.

Xenia 70, Lebanon 53: Andrew Bolka led Xenia with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Hiney scored 16 and had five assists. Shane Eagle scored 13 and was 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.

Dusty Isaacs led Lebanon with 22 points.

Cincinnati Roger Bacon 63, Carroll 32: Roger Bacon started the game with a 17-5 first-quarter run. The Patriots are still winless in the Greater Catholic League, despite 14 points from Brian Hickey.

Alter 50, Cincinnati Purcell Marian 40: Alter earned its first GCL win of the season. Max Zukowitz led the Knights with 12 points.

Waynesville 63, Monroe 30: Waynesville rode a 12-2 first-quarter run to its fourth win of the season.

Twelve Spartans scored, led by Brandon Gautreaux with 15 points and Jay Allen with 12.

Franklin 64, Brookville 41: Franklin finished with a 17-3 run in the fourth quarter. Justin Rossi scored 22 points, and Scott Blake scored 15. The two combined for seven 3-pointers.

Fort Recovery 56, Coldwater 51 OT: It’s the first loss of the season for the state-ranked Cavaliers.
