The Lebanon High School boys basketball team kicked its season-long losing streak aside when it defeated Miamisburg 79-44 on Friday, Jan. 8.
Lebanon out-scored Miamisburg 24-11 in the first quarter and led the rest of the game.
Blake Davenport led Lebanon with 22 points and made three 3-pointers. Jordan Russell, a 6-foot-5 senior forward, scored 12 points and had 12 rebounds.
Nathan Chambers led Miamisburg with seven points. He was among 12 different Vikings to score during the game.
Lebanon is 1-8 overall and 1-1 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference. Miamisburg fell to 1-7 overall and 1-1 in the GWOC.
Oakwood 74, Milton-Union 36: Ryan McFarland led Oakwood with 13 points. He made three 3-pointers.
Oakwood started the game with a 22-8 run.
Dan Manzanillo scored 12 points and was 3-for-3 from the foul line. Scott Feldmiller scored 11.
Garrett Stephenson led Milton-Union with 14 points. He was the only Bulldog in double-figures.
Vandalia 68, Sidney 57: A.J. Pacher scored 21 points and had 13 rebounds for Vandalia.
Taylor Decker led the Aviators with 22 points.
Zach Yinger led Sidney with 14 points. Daniel Ocke scored 12.
Vandalia is 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the GWOC. Sidney is 6-3 and 1-2 in the GWOC.
Meadowdale 72, Stivers 58: Richard Weaver led Meadowdale with 21 points. Jaquill King scored 12, Odis Shine scored 11 and Marquece Simmons scored 10.
Brooklyn Bradley scored 22 points to lead Stivers. Regis Motley scored 10.
Greenville 58, Lehman Catholic 57: Greenville senior guard Zac Guillozet’s scored with five seconds left in the game to give Greenville the lead.
The win is the first of the season for Greenville. Lehman Catholic fell to 6-3.
Graham Luce led Greenville with 18 points. Tyler Holzapfel scored 15. Dylan Onoz and Guillozet each scored 10.
Alex Baker and Nick Cordonnier each scored 14 points to lead Lehman Catholic.
Fort Recovery 64, Versailles 39: Greg Kahlig scored 35 points, had 14 rebounds, was 15-for-19 from the field and made four 3-pointers for Fort Recovery. Kahlig is the area’s leading scorer.
