Waynesville closes in style

Waynesville finished its season in style with a 51-12 win over Madison and a record-setting performance from its quarterback Friday, Oct. 30.

Cory Young rushed for 127 yards — including a 75-yard touchdown run in the third quarter — and set Waynesville’s career record for touchdown passes with a 35-yard toss to Chase Gianattasio in the second.

Seth Millar had 135 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Waynesville finished the season 8-2.

Franklin 28, Oakwood 7: Dylan Salyers scored twice for Franklin — once on a 25-yard touchdown run in the first and again on a 7-yard run in the second.

Quarterback Ben Sizemore hit Justin Salyers for a 36-yard touchdown pass in the fourth.

Oakwood’s lone score was a 2-yard touchdown run by Colin Morris in the second.

Piqua 21, Xenia 18: Piqua quarterback Taylor Wellbaum hit Tavian Williams for a 39-yard touchdown pass with 5:15 left in the game.

Xavier Roberts led Piqua with 10 carries for 67 yards.

Wellbaum finished 5-for-11 for 91 yards.

Trevon Caldwell carried 12 times for Xenia for 100 yards. Will Jackson had 19 carries for 82 yards.

Bellbrook 17, Milton-Union 14: Two first-quarter touchdowns — one on a 20-yard interception return by Mike Orzel — sparked Bellbrook to an upset over Milton-Union.

Bellbrook finished the year 2-8, Milton-Union 6-4.

Dunbar 29, Meadowdale 0: Roger Williamson had three interceptions, one for a 47-yard touchdown.

Goshen 29, West Carrollton 19: The Pirates won’t fret for long, clinching a playoff spot in Division II Region 8 despite the loss.

Randy Stites had six receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown. Adam Murphy was 9-for-20 passing for 117 yards. Loren Snow had two touchdown runs for West Carrollton.

West Carrollton finished the season 8-2.

Valley View 38, Brookville 19: Five players scored touchdowns for Valley View, which notched a Region 16 playoff spot with the win. The Spartans finish the year 7-3, Brookville 5-5.

Eaton 33, Preble Shawnee 0: Dalton Caudill rushed 31 times for 200 yards and four touchdowns for Eaton, which clinched a playoff spot in Division III Region 12.

Tecumseh 13, Bellefontaine 10, OT: Quarterback Riley Gault scored the game-winner on a 13-yard run in overtime on fourth-and-3.

The win gave Tecumseh a share of the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division crown for the second consecutive year.

Tippecanoe 41, Kenton Ridge 19: Cory Johnson scored three rushing touchdowns for Tippecanoe, which shares the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division title and qualifies for the Division III playoffs.
