Waynesville swamps Oakwood

Waynesville relied on its ground game and two 100-yard rushers to pound out a 24-12 win over Oakwood on Friday, Oct. 9.

Seth Millar sloshed through the mud 19 times for 170 yards for Waynesville on a dark and somewhat stormy night. He scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter and on a 57-yard run in the second.

Waynesville’s Cory Young rushed 17 times for 134 yards and a touchdown, while Devon Burton had 14 tackles.

Matt Carpenter had a 47-yard touchdown run for Oakwood in the second quarter. Colin Morris scored on a 13-yard pass from Carpenter in the fourth.
